Poe's Long Shadow: A Literary Appreciation

Edgar Allan Poe, pioneer of detective stories, horror, and psychological suspense, continues to influence writers a century and a half after his death. Maya Corrigan will discuss Poe's legacy and the unique place he holds in popular culture because of his haunting writing, strange life, and mysterious death. She'll also talk about the part Poe plays in her latest mystery,The Tell-Tale Tarte.

 

Maya (Mary Ann) Corrigan, author of the Five-Ingredient Mysteries, has taught writing, American literature, and detective fiction at Georgetown University and Northern Virginia Community College. Adults and Teens.
