Art of Batik on Wooden Masks
Wita Salim will showcase batik an Indonesian technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to the fabric to create exclusive patterns and designs. Create your own mask using the dye-resist technique. All materials provided.
Indonesian Batik was designated as Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

About the Presenter
Wita Salim PradonggoI is one of the founders of Rumah Indonesia. She is an Indonesian language teacher, interpreter, engineer, with a drive to share the Indonesian culture with the world. She hosts batik workshops all over the DC Metro area.
