Indonesian Batik Workshop: Wooden Masks

Art of Batik on Wooden Masks

Wita Salim will showcase batik, an Indonesian technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to fabric to create exclusive patterns and designs. You will use this technique to create your own batik design that you will adhere to a wooden mask. All materials provided.

Indonesian Batik was designated as Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

About the Presenter

Wita Salim PradonggoI is one of the founders of Rumah Indonesia. She is an Indonesian language teacher, interpreter, engineer, with a drive to share the Indonesian culture with the world. She hosts batik workshops all over the DC Metro area.
