The Night of Terror: Suffragists at the Occoquan Workhouse
Learn about the 33 suffragists imprisoned at the Occoquan (Lorton) Workhouse in November 1917. The work of these tenacious women along with other activists led to the 1920 passage of the 19th amendment granting women the right to vote.
