Cromwell Casts an Eye on Virginia
When it comes to history, the English 17th century Civil War that resulted in King Charles I’s beheading and the Commonwealth government that followed is little known or studied on this side of the pond. Yet, Oliver Cromwell, the chief protagonist and the man who replaced the monarch as Lord Protector, has an interesting place in Virginia’s history. Learn about the fascinating facts of this piece of Virginia history and the ways it set the state apart from the rest of the colonies. Cosponsored by Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at George Mason University (OLLI Mason).
