Book Rebels: A Teen Book Club

Book Rebels: A Teen Book Club

In Book Rebels, we'll read books that have been banned, challenged, censored, or protested around the world, as well as books that focus on freedom of expression. We'll discuss why the books were challenged and other related issues.

For February we will be reading The Face on the Milk Carton by Caroline B. Cooney. This suspenseful roller-coaster ride of a novel has been challenged most often for "Sexual content, challenging authority, and being unsuitable for age group." It was the 29th most frequently challenged book in the U.S. from 2000 to 2009, as tracked by the American Library Association.

Open to teens ages 12-18. No registration necessary.
