Fact-Checking Escape Room

Fact-Checking Escape Room

Break free from misinformation on International Fact-Checking DayThe Euphorigen Investigation is an engaging way to think more critically about the information you encounter online and beyond. Adults.

The Euphorigen Investigation is the first game University of Washington Center for an Informed Public's Loki's Loop project. Escape rooms are live-action adventure games where teams of players work cooperatively to solve a series of puzzles. The immersive nature of the medium serves as an engaging way to interact with various deceptive tactics, such as manipulated charts, bot accounts, and deepfakes. It’s an experiential rather than skills-based approach for people to think more critically about the information they encounter online.
