**New Initiative - Braddock Storytellers** (October, 2024)
Mark your calendar for the next Braddock District Council Aging in Place program meeting. The fourth quarter of the year will introduce a new initiative of “Braddock Storytellers” where we will draw on speakers from our local community with their lifetime of diverse experiences and wealth of stories to tell.
Off the Beaten Track : A Magnificent Cathedral, a real "Downton Abbey" and a pre-Roman Antiquity in the Heart of England given by Paul Hartwell, Retired Geologist and Geographer on Tuesday October 8th, 2024 at 2:00 PM at In-Person at the Meeting Room in King’s Park Library or virtually on Zoom (Zoom link will be provided closer to the date)
Paul’s Story: In 2018, while returning to England for a reunion with his cousins, Paul granted his American family members travelling with him one sightseeing wish each. They chose popular tourist destinations that would have been distant from the reunion location and not practical to visit in the time available. However, the stand-ins he came up with “off the beaten track” were all great alternatives and all within 60 miles of each other. Like his spouse and in-laws, be surprised discovering the less explored destinations with their own rich stories to tell of kings, queens, civil wars, ghosts, gold medalists and the industrial revolution!
