Coppelia Storytime Ballet
Students from the Metropolitan School of the Arts present a family-friendly adaptation of "Coppelia," a historic and comedic ballet that has charmed audiences around the world for centuries! The story unfolds in a small European village and revolves around Swanilda, a spirited young woman, her fiancé Franz, and a mysterious inventor, Dr. Coppelius. The twist? Franz falls in love with what he thinks is a woman, but is actually a life-like doll created by Dr. Coppelius. The ballet is filled with misunderstandings, playful trickery, and a series of humorous events, leading to a joyous and festive conclusion. The performance will be followed by a coloring activity and photo opportunity. All ages.
