Bread Recipes Without Yeast

Come to this presentation to learn about breads that do not to be proofed or kneaded. They can go from the mixing bowl to the pan to the oven. Instead of using yeast to achieve a rise, these bread recipes rely upon leavening agents like baking soda and baking powder. While the bake times can seem long (sometimes up to an hour), they are definitely speedier to make than a yeasted dough. You will also get to sample a few of the many Quick Bread recipes. About Chef Cal Kraft

For thirty years, Chef Cal Kraft worked in the corporate world of the travel and hospitality industry, from flying the friendly skies, to Director of Customer Relations at Amtrak, to Regional Vice President for the Council of Better Business Bureaus. He retired in 1995 to pursue his interest in both cooking and running a country inn. For several years Cal was an Innkeeper at the Bailiwick Inn, a historic 14 - room inn in the heart of Fairfax, Virginia. It was here that he developed his true love of cooking and fine dining. Whenever he was not attending to his inn keeping duties, he was in the kitchen watching as Executive Chef Jeff Prather created his culinary magic night after night. The Inn was sold in late 1999. Cal studied Northern Italian Cuisine under Chef Instructor Jane Woods as well as taking culinary studies at both L’ Academe de Cuisine and the Culinary Institute of America.  His books:include • The Ramblings of an Old Man Book 2   • Recipes from the Chef’s Corner • The Ramblings of an Old Man.
