Indigenous Foodways

Indigenous Foodways

Join representatives from the Eastern Woodlands Revitalization as they discuss the foodways of the local indigenous communities, both historically and currently. They will explore the terminology of food sovereignty and what tribal communities are doing to create food sovereignty within their tribal nations. They will also explore the terminology “food as medicine” as they look at current health concerns of tribal communities and how we can use food to heal us not only physically, but also mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
