Join us as Alexandria Historical Society (AHS) member and historian, David Heiby, presents on the history and legacy of The Alexandria National Cemetery. Established in 1862, it serves as the second oldest national cemetery in the federal system. This property has over 4,500 individuals laid to rest within its 5-acre bounds, including approximately 3,900 Union soldiers. Throughout the presentation, Mr. Heiby will recognize remarkable and courageous stories of the many individuals buried on the property.
