Capoeira is a traditional Brazilian martial art combining music and acrobatics, and Maculelê is a fast dance performed with sticks or machetes.
Capoeira is such an important art expression that it is part of the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

ABADA-CAPOEIRA DC - Since 2008, Abada-Capoeira DC has been a leader in the promotion of capoeira in Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington DC. Through the study of capoeira, they seek to inspire and empower people to realize their full potential as responsible, confident, productive members of society.
