All Fairfax Reads: Civil Rights in America: James Baldwin, Afrofuturism and Me
Celebrate All Fairfax Reads!
Celebrate Fairfax County Public Library's new series: All Fairfax Reads. Fairfax County Public Library is hosting events and a county-wide read of author and civil rights activist James Baldwin's classic 1953 novel, Go Tell It on the Mountain, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of James Baldwin's birth.
Civil Rights in America
Join us as we conclude All Fairfax Reads with a talk by Emmy Award winning “CBS News Sunday Morning” contributor Nancy Giles, as she talks about the legacy of James Baldwin, and how his timeless (and what some would call ‘afrofuturistic”) writing, interviews, and uncompromising wit has inspired her work, both with CBS and as a writer/solo artist.
