Meet Wendy Diaz, Author of Eid Empanadas

Meet Wendy Diaz, Author of Eid Empanadas

“Eid Empanadas” by author Wendy Diaz introduces Omar Hernández, a young Muslim student at An-Noor Islamic Academy. Even after a year and half in Ms. Khan’s 5th-grade class Omar still feels like the new kid at school. Life takes an unexpected turn when the teacher gives the class an assignment about how their families celebrate the month of Ramadan. Will Omar’s family traditions make him more of an outsider at school? Find out in this heartwarming story that is sure to inspire you and your taste buds!

Following the book talk with a Q&A and book signing, the audience can enjoy arts and crafts, face painting, balloons, and fun!
