Explore Native American Life in Fairfax County

Richard Byrd Celebrates Native American History Month!

Explore what life may have been like for Eastern Woodland Indians and the relationship they had with the land that is now Fairfax County. Learn about Native American culture, skills and jobs practiced in this area, and the use and stewardship of natural resources. Explore replica artifacts, listen to a story from Native American lore, try out corn grinding, and play a corn dart game.

The information in this presentation applies to the VS.2 part of the Virginia SOL test, so learn in a fun way!

Presented by our partners at the Fairfax County Park Authority and sponsored by the Friends of the Richard Byrd Library
