Mortar & Pestle : Classic Indonesian Recipes for the Modern Kitchen
Join local author Pat Tanumihardja as she celebrates the launch of her fifth cookbook Mortar and Pestle—Classic Indonesian Recipes for the Modern Kitchen. Pat co-wrote Mortar and Pestle with her mother, Julia, and this book is an ode to her and mothers everywhere. Pat will share behind-the-scenes stories of publishing her book and demystify Asian ingredients that are used not only in Indonesian cooking but across many Asian cultures. After raiding her pantry/kitchen for a show-and-tell, Pat will demonstrate how to make Gado Gado, a simple Indonesian vegetable dish with peanut sauce. Samples provided!
