“Not Satisfied with the Provisions Made for Her”

David Armstrong, a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for Mason Legacies (CML) at George Mason University, will present his research on Elizabeth Mary Ann Barnes Hooe (1768-1814).  Through her marriages to George Mason V and George Graham, Hooe typified the unions of Virginia’s early elite, while also making bold legal moves to protect her inheritance.
