TAI CHI Lessons at the Oakton Library

The classes introduce people to the first part of Tai Chi (TaiJi) 24 forms. Participants can improve balance by strengthening muscle controls from their movements.   

Parts of classes: 

  • Every class begins with the warm-up exercise including balance strengthening
  • The first class will go over the high-level concepts of Yang Style TaiJi (or Tai Chi) 24 forms principles and learn shift weight properly to prevent injury.
  • From the 2nd class and forward, one or two movements of (the movement 1 to 12) the TaiJi 24 forms will be introduced.
  • Every class ends with one of the eight movements of 8 Brocades. 

Although it is not necessary, all participants are encouraged to have some knowledge of TaiChi (TaiJi)

This event has 8 sessions. Registration is required for each session.
