Learn Over Lunch Book Talk

Learn Over Lunch Book Talk

Miranda Spivack, an independent journalist and author, and Queenie Cox, a notable community activist in Gum Springs—the oldest African American community in Fairfax County--will host a discussion of Spivack's book: Backroom Deals in Our Backyards: How Government Secrecy Harms Our Communities - and the Local Heroes Fighting Back.  Gum Springs is among the communities featured. The book is about communities and the "accidental activists" who don't seek out that role, but step into it and step up.
