NoVA Prism Center explores how to use crafts to raise awareness about issues you care about!

After briefly exploring the history of using handmade crafts to amplify activist efforts, participants will have an opportunity to design and begin a project using the craft of their choice to express themselves about a current activist issue that moves them. Rather than focusing on a particular craft, we'll be bringing together materials, inspiration, and a community discussion to build ideas for how to use crafts to raise awareness about important issues. This class will be as much about the design process as it is about getting started making an item.

Bring any kind of craft project - such as knitting, sewing, paper crafts, or painting - or start a new one with the materials provided.

No experience necessary.

Adults and teens.
