Max Jacobs and Kristoffer Belgica in Concert

Max Jacobs and Kristoffer Belgica in Concert

Amadeus Concerts is back at the Great Falls Library with violinist Max Jacobs and guitarist Kristoffer Belgica, who will perform an engaging set that promises to be a rich dialogue between a range of styles and traditions. From jazz and various European and American folk traditions to classical, and featuring both arrangements and originals, Jacobs and Belgica will draw you in with their playful and captivating sound.

Max Jacobs, a recent artist-in-residence at the Strathmore Music Center, is a noted interpreter of the music of legendary African-American jazz violinist Eddie South, a contemporary and sometimes bandmate of guitarist Django Reinhardt. Max has performed at venues including the Kennedy Center, Strathmore, Creative Alliance, and An die Musik, and is a section violinist with the Great Falls Philharmonic.

Kristoffer Belgica is a Baltimore-based guitarist who specializes in Gypsy jazz, swing, and klezmer. He has performed at a wide variety of venues and festivals all around the mid-Atlantic and beyond, including Strathmore, Charm City Django Jazz Festival, Annapolis Jazz & Roots Festival, Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival, Summer Gypsy Jazz Fest, Westminster Flowers & Jazz Festival, Cleveland Pagan Pride and Culturefest World Music and Arts Festival in Pipestem, West Virginia.

Amadeus Concerts

Amadeus Concerts inspires a community of classical music lovers in the Washington DC area through up-close performances by professional musicians, educational outreach, and mentoring for young musicians. We collaborate with artistic partners and spotlight performers of the highest caliber, including our own Amadeus Orchestra.

Our educational initiatives include community lectures and side-by-side events, where the Amadeus Orchestra performs next to student musicians; we also nurture young talent with an Emerging Artist Program, where exceptional young musicians are presented on our regular season.

Now in our 44th season of activities, Amadeus Concerts will be under the leadership of incoming Artistic and Executive Director Stephen Gorbos. Longtime Artistic Director A. Scott Wood remains with Amadeus as Conductor of the Amadeus Orchestra. Please visit us at www.amadeusconcerts.com for more information, and follow us on social media on Instagram and Facebook.
