Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate and recognize the achievements and contributions of the Hispanic/Latinx community. Meet inspiring Hispanic/Latinx leaders who will share stories of how their strength and resilience led to successful careers and positive contributions to our society. Co-sponsored by One Fairfax.

Rosalia Fajardo, Disability Strategic Partnerships Director at ENDpendence Center of Northern Virginia, is a Colombian Lawyer and community leader for more than a decade, has dedicated her efforts to achieving the growth of the multicultural community of the Metropolitan area of Washington, DC. A dreamer, an achiever who believes that access to a great education and health is the key to the sustainable development of the Hispanic community, the family, and society. Dr. Fajardo has tirelessly worked for the past 25 years to create partnerships between families, schools, government agencies, and nonprofit foundations to promote equality, access, and social justice to the Latino community, including disability rights and those in need of special education. She has been working dedicated to helping Latino students with and without disabilities succeed in their dreams of achieving a college education. 

Vallejos Headshot

Karen Vallejos serves as the Dream Project's Executive Director and is an experienced advocate of immigrant rights and educational equity. After witnessing the 2010 collapse of the federal DREAM Act, she was one of the founding members of the Dream Project. She has held multiple leadership positions and has been heavily involved with organizations working on a wide range of social justice issues. Karen earned her Juris Doctorate from Washington and Lee School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Southwestern Adventist University.  Karen was born in Cochabamba, Bolivia, and raised in Arlington, VA.  In recognition of her work, Karen was named an honoree of the 2024 NOVA 40 Under 40.

Alejandro Negrón, Executive Director and host at La Agenda Radio, is a seasoned journalist, broadcaster, and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience connecting with audiences. He is the host and producer of La Agenda, a daily morning news show focused on truthful, independent reporting, and the creator of Alto Impacto con Alejandro Negrón, a podcast that delivers deep, transformational conversations for Spanish-speaking audiences in the U.S. and Latin America. As President & CEO of Huellas Digital, Alejandro leads a media production company that specializes in social media content, podcasts, and digital advertising strategies that help businesses and leaders amplify their message. His work has been recognized by The Washington Post for his passionate advocacy and commitment to community engagement. Alejandro’s mission is to elevate the voices of the Latino community, inspire personal growth, and create meaningful conversations that move people to action.
