The Soil that Feeds Us Diorama Contest

Join our effort to raise awareness about the importance of our soil for habitat and growing nutritious food! Read a book or view a documentary about soil, best farm practices, composting or the living creatures that rely on our soil for habitat. 

Contest entry forms with guidelines are available as an attachment to this program listing. The deadline for submission is Tuesday July 29th! You can bring your entry form to the Burke Centre Library or email your entry form to nancy.klein@fairfaxcounty.gov. 

The contest is open to four age categories: preschool/kindergarten (family), Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6, Grades 7-12. The exhibit of dioramas and public voting will take place at the library on July 31st. A winner for each age group will be announced and a $50.00 gift card awarded! Prizes sponsored by the Friends of Burke Centre Library.
