New Book Launch & Discussion
Join us on Tuesday, September 9th at 7:00PM at the Chantilly Regional Library for the launch of award-winning author Andrew Joseph White's adult horror debut You Weren't Meant to Be Human. Alien meets Midsommar in this deliciously macabre novel following pregnant trans man Crane who is just trying to survive amidst an alien invasion in rural West Virginia. You Weren't Meant to Be Human is a deeply personal horror; a visceral statement about the lives of marginalized people in a hostile world, echoing the works of Stephen Graham Jones and Eric LaRocca.
Andrew will be in conversation with indie author and bookseller Alice Scott. They are the author of several short stories and two chapbooks: The Practical Man's Guide to Cheating Death and a collection of short stories You Are Not Your Bones and Lesser Misfortunes. They also have a story published in Reverent: An Anthology of Divinity edited by Quinton Li which will be available for purchase at the event.
