Late Night in the Virginia Room

Are you a night owl family historian? This is your night! Join fellow researchers and genealogists for after-hours research in the Virginia Room. Staff will be on hand to connect you with resources. Research independently or attend a class on how artificial intelligence (AI) can assist with genealogy research. Virginia Room staff will give tours of the Rare Book Room. Researchers will enjoy complimentary pizza and drinks. Attendees MUST register and arrive before the library closes at 6 pm, but may leave at any time.

Free Class provided:

6:30 – 7:30 p.m.  Genealogy & AI: A Beginner’s Guide. Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the way genealogy enthusiasts approach family history research. This session, led by Virginia Room librarian Hanni Nabahe, will introduce key AI tools that assist with historical document transcription, translation, photo restoration, narrative writing, and research organization. Designed for beginners, this program provides a foundational understanding of how AI can support genealogical projects, helping participants navigate emerging technologies with confidence.
