Burke Historical Society Presents: The Manassas Gap Railroad
Burke Historical Society Lecture Series.
Michael McDonnell, a retired Fairfax County Park Authority manager, will discuss the Manassas Gap Railroad, incorporated in 1850 to connect Alexandria to the Shenandoah Valley. Although construction was never completed, you might still find some remnants of the MGRR around Fairfax County.
Adults and teens welcome.

Michael McDonnell completed his M.A. in U.S. History at GMU in 1996, and spent 40 years managing historic and natural history park sites for the Fairfax County Park Authority from 1983 through 2023.
