Visible Mending on Jeans
“Visible Mending” will be taught using an ancient Japanese technique that allows worn clothes to be made more beautiful and usable. The technique uses the methods of “boro” (mending) and “sashiko” (simple embroidery) as a creative and resourceful way to breathe new life into well-loved clothing. Old jeans with holes can be transformed into wearable works of art.
This is a beginner's, introductory class. Patching material, needles, and thread will be provided. Workshop participants should bring their own worn denim clothes, preferably clean jeans. (Those who like to use thimbles should bring their own.)
