President Lincoln's Cottage
Join us for a presentation on President Abraham Lincoln's D.C. Cottage! Staff from the museum will share the history and legacy of the house. As well as emphasizing the importance of the property while Lincoln made nation-changing decisions about the Union, freedom, and the presidency.
President Lincoln’s Cottage was built for banker George W. Riggs in 1842. However, during the Civil War, President Lincoln and his family relocated to the home for the "hot" season. After years of preservation, in 2008, the cottage became open to the public.
