Mary McLeod Bethune: A Life and Legacy
Join us for an inspiring presentation on the life and legacy of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, led by National Park Ranger Ife Calhoun. Dr. Bethune, a daughter of former enslaved parents in Mayesville, South Carolina, rose to prominence as a pioneering educator, as well as a civil and women's rights activist. She founded the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) in 1935, creating the most influential national coalition of African American women's organizations of its time.
