Banned Books Read-In

In 2025, 5,668 books were banned from libraries, 66% of the total challenged. Another 920 books were censored by restricting access, and 4,235 unique titles were challenged.

This is your chance to turn the act of reading into a visible, peaceful protest against censorship. Individuals are invited to read silently throughout the library in a display of support for intellectual freedom. There will also be a place for discussion. Challenged titles will be available for reading and checkout, or you can bring your own materials. We will have information about censorship attempts around the county.

Registration is NOT required; however it is encouraged if you would like an email reminder.
