Dino Summer @ the National Zoo

The Smithsonian’s National Zoo is making room for beasts of the prehistoric kind this summer!

From June 1 to August 31, 2019, guests can enjoy “Dino Summer,” featuring unique dinosaur experiences within the park, including DinoRoars, Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo Live, and an Adopt-a-Species program:

DinoRoars is a self-guided safari experience. Visitors will have an opportunity to feast their eyes upon six roaring animatronic dinosaurs, including both a baby stegosaurus and 5,000-pound Tyrannosaurus Rex!
Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo Live is a 30-minute theatre production that invites viewers to observe, meet, and interact with lifelike dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures.
• Dino Summer also includes a very special Adopt-a-Species program, which gives patrons a unique opportunity to adopt a Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex, or Naked Mole Rat! This limited edition adoption coincides with the zoo’s species-saving efforts already in place.
