Reimagining America, Part 1: History Taught Us: Exploring Yesterday’s Impact on Today

Join us for part 1 of our "Reimagining America" virtual series as we explore the socio-historic construction of the Black/African American experience. We will focus on popular ideologies surrounding American slavery and the Civil Rights Movement, and discuss connections between the past and present. An invitation to join this event will be emailed 1-2 days before the program begins. Adults. (R)

This program will be facilitated by Dr. Mark Hopson, Director of African and African American Studies at George Mason University, and will feature Marilyn Mobley, Ph.D., Professor of English and African American Studies. Dr. Mobley is former Vice President for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity at Case Western University.


This program will be recorded and available at Understand & Dismantle Racial Injustice on June 16.
