Cook the Book! members cook from the same cookbook and meet to discuss results. Join us!  A  Zoom invitation will be emailed to registrants after 4 p.m. on November 15th. Adults.

It’s Always Freezer Season: How to Freeze Like a Chef with 100 Make-Ahead Recipes by Ashley Christensen and Kaitlyn Goalen.  (641.555 Christe 2021). Place a "HOLD" on the book now. 

Get the most out of your freezer by using it properly, stocking a pantry of frozen stapes and using recipes designed to be frozen. The authors call their freezer “the most important appliance” in their kitchen. Will you think likewise after using this book?

Ashley Christensen and Kaitlyn goalen

Ashley Christensen was awarded the James Beard Award for “Best Chef: Southeast” in 2014 and in 2019 she was awarded the James Beard Award in the “Outstanding Chef” category. Ashley was named Chef of the Year by Eater.com in 2017. She is the author of the cookbook, Poole’s: Recipes and Stories from a Modern Diner, which was published by Ten Speed Press in fall 2016 and named one of the top cookbooks of the fall by the New York Times.

Kaitlyn Goalen is the coauthor, with chef Ashley Christensen, of Poole’s: Recipes and Stories from a Modern Diner and It’s Always Freezer Season. They are married and live in Raleigh, North Carolina, where they oversee the five restaurants in the AC Restaurants hospitality group.
