Join Rabbi Jessie Wainer as she explores Judaism, the religion, and the evolving role of women in Judaism. From the earliest matriarchs of Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel and Leah to the more modern women who paved the way for women in the rabbinate, Rabbi Wainer will share text and stories from the Jewish tradition. An invitation to join this Part 2 of the Great Discussions series on Religions, will be sent to participants one day before the event. Judaism evolved from ancient Israelite religions around 500 BCE and is considered one of the oldest monotheistic religions.

Rabbi Jessie Wainer is one of the rabbis at Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation in Reston, Virginia. She was ordained from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati in 2016. While there, she also earned a Master of Arts in Hebrew Letters and Masters in Education Administration. Rabbi Wainer has served Jewish communities in Cincinnati, OH, Louisville, KY, Bay City & Saginaw, MI and Beckley, WV.
