Classroom Science at Work in Nature

Explore science beyond the classroom with a “Science Enrichment” program at Hidden Pond Nature Center.

These programs are designed to supplement online and classroom science instruction with hands-on activities tailored to specific elementary grade levels. The 45-minute programs run on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021, with a focus on a different grade level each hour. The cost of each is $6 per child. One parent is required to sign up per household. Registration required.

Different themed programs are being offered later in the week.

Thursday, May 6, 2021 - Second graders will learn about “Spring Flowers” from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m.

Thursday, May 6, 2021 – Fourth graders will learn to “Make an Electromagnet” from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.

Friday, May 7, 2021 – Third graders will learn about “Where Did the Soil Go?” from 4:30 to 5:15 pm.

Friday, May 7, 2021 – Fifth graders will learn about “Sound Waves: How Crickets Make Noise and Why” from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.
