Kids in the Kitchen: Making Healthy Snacks

Kids in the Kitchen: Making Healthy Snacks

Come join us online for a fun nutrition lesson and a healthy snack!

This is an interactive experience that engages kids to form healthy eating habits and learn basic cooking skills. This month we'll be making apple "donuts" together! Check out the recipe below, grab the ingredients if you'd like to follow along, and taste the snack along with us.  The day before the event you'll receive the Zoom link and password to join our session online.  Best suited for ages 3-8.

Presented by the Junior League of Northern Virginia. https://www.jlnv.org/

Here's what you'll need to follow along:

1  Apple (your favorite kind)

2 tbsps Nut or Seed Butter

A couple of your favorite toppings like:

  • Coconut Flakes
  • Low Sugar Granola
  • Pomegranate Seeds
  • Dark Chocolate Chips

A small bowl

We're hoping to have our Kids in the Kitchen program outdoors this summer at the Tysons Library in a safe enviroment, check our online calendar or the call the library at 703-790-8088 (option 4) for details as they're available.  Thank you for your support!
