Come spend time connecting your mind, body, and emotions. We will share books, songs, rhymes, and activities focusing on different aspects of mindfulness for preschoolers. Children will create their own ocean sensory bottle to take home. All supplies will be provided. Ages 3-5.

A special thank you to the Friends of the George Mason Regional Library for their generous library donation!

DID YOU KNOW

Mindfulness may be a current buzzword, but it’s a buzz worthy of attention! Living in a world of constant distraction, people of all ages benefit from this simple practice of paying attention to the present. In particular, a growing body of research shows that mindfulness is especially important for children. Some ways children may benefit from mindfulness include:

  • Improved moods and self-esteem; reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression
  • Increased ability to regulate emotions, less aggression
  • Growth in feelings of empathy, kindness, and love
  • Improved academic learning
