About the author: "Lorenz Wagner, born in 1970, was chief reporter of the Financial Times Deutschland and writes now for the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin. He has been awarded the prestigious Prix Franco-Allemand du Journalisme, among other prizes. He is bilingual, French and German, lived and studied in France, and resides in Germany."
