Burke Historical Society Presents: Who was General Braddock and where is his gold?
How did Fairfax County’s Braddock District and Braddock Road get their names? In 1755 the commander of British forces in North America, General Edward Braddock arrived in Virginia. His mission, battle France for control of the continent. Cindy Bennett from the Burke Historical Society will discuss the background of French and Indian War conflict, the General's expedition from Alexandria to the Allegheny frontier, and the legend of a buried treasure associated with his campaign.
