Speaker Bio – Arvette M. Reid    

For the last 5 years, Arvette M. Reid has worked in wealth management at Signature Estate & Investment Advisors (SEIA), where she helps families bridge the gap between health and finances. Before joining SEIA, Arvette spent 15 years as a sales professional in the senior housing and healthcare industry, spanning independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and hospice services. Her experience uniquely informed how she helped SEIA create a new healthcare-driven financial plan called the Lifecare Affordability Plan® (LCAPTM). Arvette is frequently asked to present to professionals and families in the senior housing and financial industries, including communities and associations, and, most recently, at the national Investment News Retirement Income Summit. Arvette is the Board Chair for Insight Memory Care Center in Fairfax, VA. She was selected in a national financial industry publication, RIA Intel, as a top ten finalist for the Rising Star of the Year Award.

Speaker Bio – Deborah Matthews          

Deborah Matthews is a lawyer with an estate planning, trust and estate administration, and probate law practice in Old Town Alexandria where she works with clients and matters in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. 

Deb has spoken extensively at legal conferences and in the community, been recognized by local Fairfax County public officials, and received the Fairfax Bar Association’s Pro Bono Attorney Award (2012) and two awards from the American Bar Association (2008 and 2007).  She is a Fellow in the Virginia Law Foundation (2020) and was selected as a Leader in the Law by the Virginia Lawyers Weekly (2019). 

A Mount Vernon resident, Deb currently serves on the Board of Directors for Mount Vernon at Home.  She can be found working to add native plantings to her yard, tending to her little free library, and striving to get in her steps.
