About Zara

Zara photo

Zara González Hoang grew up in a house full of stories, where imagination was encouraged and one could never be sure what was truth and what was fiction. She is the author and illustrator of the picturebook A New Kind of Wild, inspired by the stories her dad told her about his childhood in New York & Puerto Rico and has illustrated numerous books including Measuring a Year by Linda Elovitz Marshall, Mi Casa is My Home by Laurenne Sala and Thread of Love written by Kabir & Surishtha Sehgal. She lives in a magical suburban forest in Northern Virginia with her Mad Man husband, human-shaped demons, curly coated corgi and a jungle of plants.
