Video Game String Ensemble

Video Game String Ensemble

Attention, Musicians!

Do you play violin, viola, cello or double bass?  Have you always wanted to play the music from video games? If the answers to these questions is yes, then this free reading session, combining classical performance with the excitement and energy of music from video games, is for you!

Musicians of all levels are encouraged to join, but instrumentalists should have at least 2 years of experience on their instrument, can sight read, and can play at an intermediate level. This is the music that is stuck in your head all day, and now you can PLAY it on your instrument with other fans! You must bring your own instrument, music stand, and pencil.

The presenter / conductor is Michelle Eng, the founder of the University of Maryland Gamer Symphony Orchestra, the first collegiate-level orchestra solely dedicated to video game music.

The featured arrangements are from: Undertale, The Legend of Zelda, and Kingdom Hearts.

Musicians, please plan to arrive 15-30 minutes early to unpack and set up your instruments, to be able to start right at 3.
