DESCRIPTION:In an age long ago (not that long)\, before the world was 
 blessed with elastic\, there was smocking. \n\nSmocking is a style of 
 embroidery but mostly it was sewing done in a way that bunches fabric 
 beautifully to give it "stretch" before the invention of elastic and 
 spandex. This was especially helpful on cuffs\, necklines\, waists and so 
 on - as well as manipulating fabric to give it texture and 
 dimension.\n\nCome to the library to learn one smocking technique to create 
 a headband to take home!\n\nMaterials provided by the library. Registration 
 is required as supplies are limited.\n\nFor adults.\n\n
