In Book Rebels, we'll read books that have been banned, challenged, censored, or protested around the world, as well as books that focus on freedom of expression. We'll discuss why the books were challenged and other related issues.

For July, we are reading The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie, which was first published 16 years ago but remains one of the most frequently challenged books in the U.S.

Open to teens ages 12-18. No registration necessary. This program meets at the Club Phoenix Teen Center in the Vienna Community Center.
