Teen Mending Day - Sewing 101 Workshop (Girl Scout Gold Award)

Mending Day - This session will focus on learning the basics of tailoring in order for your clothes to fit effortlessly on you. We will be using both hand and machine sewing in order to walk through skills such as: sewing on a button, fixing a seam, and hemming pants/sleeves. We will also learn basic mending for your damaged clothes. If you have any clothes that you want to be tailored, bring them in! You can bring in personal sewing supplies if you own any. Ages 13-18.

What to bring:

  • Clothes that you want to be tailored (pants that are too long, a hole in your shirt, etc.)
  • Sewing Machine (Optional)
  • Needles, specific colored thread, pins (Optional)
